How to Move Your Oven

Once you have uncrated and accepted delivery of your Forno Classico oven, the next step is preparing your installation space and coordinating a safe move into position.

These ovens are extremely heavy—ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 pounds—so proper lifting equipment is essential. A crane, hydraulic lift, forklift, or similar machinery must be arranged before delivery to ensure the oven can be safely transported to its final location without risk of damage or delay.

Safe Lifting Procedure

Your oven will arrive secured on a custom-built plywood pallet designed specifically for transport. To transfer it onto a countertop or stand, an engine hoist, forklift, crane, or equivalent equipment is required.

For proper lifting and handling:

  • Insert lifting straps or forks through the pallet and beneath the oven
  • Use a spreader bar to evenly distribute weight and maintain stability during lifting
  • Adjust the straps to achieve a secure and balanced hold along the oven’s edges
  • Position straps at the corners to minimize pressure on exterior finishes such as stucco or mosaic tile
  • Orient the lifting bar from back to front, ensuring it extends beyond both the rear and front of the oven for proper balance

To protect the oven during movement, cover it with a furniture moving blanket or heavy-duty fabric. This helps prevent scratches, cracks, or other surface damage to the exterior finish.
