Installing the Gas Burner: Countertop Guide

The heart of your Forno Classico is its high-performance burner system. While the burner is designed for ease of use, installation must be performed by a licensed professional. Improper installation can increase the risk of fire, serious injury, or death.

⚠️ Pre-Installation Safety Check

  • Permanent Placement: Ensure the oven is in its final, permanent location before beginning the burner installation.
  • Non-Combustible Zone: It is critical that no combustible materials are stored underneath the oven, as this area requires ventilation and creates a fire hazard.
  • Component Inspection: Your burner is inside the oven crate, it is usually inside the oven and marked as the oven burner assembly. It comes pre-assembled (approximately 55" in length) and includes the burner head, flexible gas line, and the control interface.

1. Preparing the Countertop

To accommodate the burner, you must prepare an opening that goes through the countertop and its supporting base.

  • Access & Airflow: This opening is required for the initial installation, future maintenance, and—most importantly—to provide the necessary ventilation for the burner to operate safely.
  • Layout Templates: Use the specific PDF guide for your oven model below to ensure your countertop cutout is accurate.

2. Burner Assembly Installation

The burner assembly is installed from underneath the oven.

  1. Mounting the Burner: Align the stainless steel burner with the base of the oven. Use the four (4) included screws to secure the burner assembly to the galvanized steel base.
  2. The Controller: The heavy-duty 405 Stainless Steel controller is designed for versatility. It can be mounted on either the left or right side of the oven front.
  3. Mounting the Bracket: Use the enclosed mounting bracket to secure the control knob to the countertop/fascia.
  4. The Flex Line: The flexible gas hose allows for positioning leeway. Caution: Do not pull, kink, or sharply bend the line, as this can lead to gas leaks.

3. Final Connection & Safety Testing

  • Gas Connection: The gas line connector is a standard 1/2" fitting.
  • Leak Test: Once installed, the technician must check all fittings and connections for leaks.
  • Do not ignite the oven until the installation is complete and all safety checks have been performed.
