Your Complete Guide to Using and Caring for Your Forno Classico Oven

Installation & Handling FAQ

The weight of these ovens—typically ranges from 1,000 to 3,000 pounds. To safely move the oven, you must use a crane, forklift, or equivalent lifting equipment rated for a minimum load of 4,000 pounds

Forno Classico ovens are designed to be installed by qualified general contractors or licensed professionals. Improper installation can lead to structural damage, compromised performance, or hazardous conditions.

Special attention must be given to fuel connections. Incorrect installation of gas or other fuel sources is extremely dangerous and may result in fire, serious injury, or loss of life. Always ensure that all applicable local building codes, safety standards, and professional installation practices are strictly followed.

  • The gas burner is already installed and integrated into the steel stand.
  • The installer only needs to connect the gas line.
  • The burner remains fully accessible for future maintenance.
  • The burner is installed underneath the oven, not inside the dome.
  • We provide a cutting template so the installer can cut the countertop or cement base correctly.
  • This design allows a technician to remove the burner easily for service or maintenance.
  • We intentionally keep the burner separate from the oven body.
  • This ensures easy access for maintenance, no need to dismantle the oven, and preserves the traditional Forno Classico dome.
  • The burner is a stand-alone unit installed below the oven for maximum practicality
  • We provide a flexible gas connection for the burner.
  • You can position the control board on the left or right side.
  • Recommended placement allows easy access to turn the oven on/off, light the pilot, adjust the flame, and control the temperature.
  • Once the pilot is turned on, the burner follows its ignition sequence.
  • You can adjust the flame to reach the desired cooking temperature.
  • This setup provides a more practical and precise cooking experience with smooth temperature control

Shipping FAQ

Once manufacturing of your Forno Classico oven is complete, shipping typically takes 1 – 2 weeks from our factory to your location.

Before accepting the delivery, you must carefully uncrate and inspect the oven while the carrier is present. This step is critical.

Inspection checklist:

  • Examine the shipping crate for visible signs of damage or mishandling
  • Check the Shockwatch Indicator label:

Red indicator = possible impact or rough handling
Missing indicator = potential issue that must be noted

  • If any concerns are present, clearly document them on the Bill of Lading before signing
  • Open the crate using appropriate tools (e.g., screwdriver) and inspect the oven thoroughly
  • Check for any dents, chips, cracks, or structural damage

If any damage is identified:

  • Do not accept the delivery
  • Complete a damage claim form immediately
  • Take clear photos of both the oven and the packaging for documentation
  • Contact Forno Classico as soon as possible

Shipping costs for our ovens and large components are calculated based on the total weight of the shipment and the delivery distance. For deliveries within the 48 continental United States, Forno Classico applies a fixed national rate that covers most destinations. Additional charges may apply for remote or hard‑to‑reach areas.

When you place an online order, an estimated freight cost will appear in your cart. After your order is submitted, a Forno Classico representative will contact you to confirm delivery details and update the quote if necessary.

Orders to Hawaii or Alaska may be placed online, but final freight quotes are handled directly through our office.

All ovens are packaged with care. Please inspect your shipment thoroughly before signing any carrier documents.

  • Curbside Delivery is the most economical option.
  • The shipment will be placed at the first accessible dry area, typically at the end of your driveway.
  • The customer is responsible for moving the pallet, unpacking the oven, and transporting it to the installation area.
  • In‑Gate Delivery places the shipment just inside your property line or gate.
  • The customer must still provide their own labor and equipment to move and unpack the oven.
  • Forno Classico does not offer Patio Placement service.
  • We do not deliver ovens directly to patios or outdoor installation areas, and we do not remove packaging materials on‑site.
  • The customer is responsible for moving, unpacking, and transporting the oven from the delivery point.

Please inspect your shipment immediately upon delivery. Damage reported outside the required timeframes may not be covered.

If damage is present:

  • Take clear photos of the packaging and product
  • Keep all packaging materials
  • Contact Forno Classico immediately
  • If the packaging is severely damaged, you may refuse the delivery

  • Inspect all crates and boxes before the carrier leaves.
  • If visible damage is present, open and inspect the affected items before the carrier departs.
  • All damage must be noted in writing on the delivery receipt.

Forno Classico ships to international customers; however, direct deliveries are available only within the United States and Canada.

For shipments to Canada or other countries, a custom quote is required. Costs vary based on:

  • Distance
  • Customs regulations
  • Import taxes and duties
  • Services requested by the customer

The customer must arrange for an international customs broker or freight forwarder to complete customs clearance and receive the oven.

Pilot Light & Thermocouple Troubleshooting Guide

1. Confirm the main gas supply is open:

  • Ensure the main gas valve feeding the oven is fully open.

2. Purge air from the gas line:

  • Air inside the gas pipe must be released. This may take several minutes before only gas is flowing.

3. Check for spark at the pilot assembly:

  • Verify that a strong spark is present to ignite the pilot flame

4. Vacuum the burner area:

  • The burner is located inside the oven.
  • Try vacuuming the area around the burner to remove ash, dust, or debris.
  • Ash buildup can block airflow or interfere with the pilot flame, causing ignition problems.
  • IMPORTANT: When performing this operation, the oven must be completely OFF including the pilot light.
  • This is normal: cleaning the burner area will shut off the pilot for safety.
  • After cleaning, relight the pilot following the standard ignition procedure.

5. Inspect the thermocouple:

  • Ensure the thermocouple is clean and free of debris or food residue.
  • Check for damage, harsh wear, or misalignment.
  • The thermocouple must sit directly in the pilot flame

6. Check for bent or pinched pilot tubing:

  • Inspect underneath the oven to ensure the pilot gas tube is not bent or restricted

7. Verify correct gas pressure:

  • Natural Gas: 7 inches W.C.
  • Propane (LP): 11 inches W.C.
  • Incorrect pressure can cause the pilot to light but not stay on

8. If the burner still does not work after all troubleshooting steps:

  • You may send the burner to us for repair.
  • We will fix it and return it to you in less than 4 days.
  • If the oven is under warranty, this service is free.
  • If the oven is not under warranty, repair charges will apply.
  • Please check the warranty dates in your contract or invoice.
  • Be sure to follow the manual for burner disassembly.
  • All disassembly must be performed by a qualified technician.
  • Always close the main gas supply before performing any operation on the oven
